Uladzimir Matskevich presented “literary” award to journalists and ecologists
Traditional prize presentation took place in Minsk. The best people in our city and country received the prizes in form of books from Uladzimir Matskevich, the philosopher and the methodologist.
On October 18 traditional “Meetings in the yard” took place in Minsk. It is an annual event organized in autumn by the Humanitarian Techniques Agency/Centre for social innovations. Within the frames of the “meetings” Uladzimir Matskevich awarded traditional books-prizes “to the best people of our city and country”. Unfortunately, due to the tree-day Forum of ecological organizations that is going on these days in Belarus not all of the nominees came to their own awarding ceremony.
However, it didn’t break traditions, and Uladzimir Matskevich awarded cherished books from his our library in a Latvian town of Liepāja.
Three awards were presented by tradition. “Planetary distribution of Belarusan language is worth to consider this event to be important” — the first place and Voltaire’s book went to Katya Kibalchich, the journalist of Russian TV-channel. It was Katya and her companions who thought out and implemented “Mova ci kava” (“Language or coffee”) initiative, which started in Moscow, but has already gained respect in Minsk, Vilnius and Warsaw. Katya Kibalchich didn’t manage to come to Minsk, so she entrusted Hleb Labadzenka with getting her award.
The second prize and a cherished book on art history received Elena Vereshchagina, the author of the project “Thoughts aloud”, available at EuroBelarus website. Elena launched this video project at tut.by portal, though it didn’t work out. But cooperation with “EuroBelarus” turned out to be successful.
The third award and a book went to the representatives of Swamp Campaign. Owing to the efforts of the ecologists several swamps were protected from destruction, which can be considered a success, too.
