Who received the International Congress of Belarusan Studies Award? (Photos)

On October 4 the winners in the nomination “Best scientific publication” were announced at the 4th International Congress of Belarusan Studies.

The Congress Award for the best publication in 2012-2013 was given in three nominations: history, social and political sciences, and humanitarian sciences.

More than 30 experts from different scientific branches evaluated the works nominated for the Award. Unlike the previous year, the Award was given specifically for the best monograph and for the best article.

The solemn ceremony was led by the philosopher and literary man Ihar Babkoŭ and the theologist Natallia Vasilevich. The awards were given by the Doctor of Historical Sciences VaÍancin Holubeŭ, the philosopher and literary man VaÍancin Akudovič, and the sociologist Tatsiana Vadalazhskaya.

In the nomination “History. Monographs” the award was given to AÍeś Bely for his monograph “The chronicle of White Russia: Imagology of Belarus in the XII-XVIII cent.”

Andrej  Cichamiraŭ with his article “Women’s images in the “Western-Russian” narration” was named the best in the nomination “History. Articles”.

The best in the nomination “Humanitarian sciences. Monographs” turn out to be Uladzimir Lobač with his work “Myth. Space. Human: Belarusan traditional landscape in semiotic perspective”.

The work “Capitalism and anxiety” brought victory to Andrei Gornyh in the nomination “Humanitarian sciences. Articles”.

Ihar RasoÍka received award in the nomination “Social sciences” for his work “The factors of reproducing Belarusan identity in the border areas with Poland and Lithuania”.

After receiving the awards, the winners and the participants of the Congress had an opportunity to listen to the guitarist and singer Jaŭhen Baryšnikaŭ.
