On December 9, 2014 the Center for European Transformation organizes a round table devoted to the “Role and place of the civil society in the system of donor aid in Belarus”.

We invite all civil society and political representatives interested, as well as international organizations, diplomatic missions, think tanks, and media to participate.

The round table takes place on December 9, 2014 in Minsk at 15.00-17.00.

Please send your applications for participation written in free form to [email protected]. Deadline is on December 7, 2014. The number of places is limited.

During the round table the results of the research “Role and place of the civil society in the system of donor aid in Belarus (2006-2012)” will be presented. The research is aimed at learning the structure of donor aid for Belarus and answers a number of questions such as:

  • Who are the main donors for Belarus?
  • What is the rate of aid received by Belarus?
  • What channels the donor aid is distributed through?
  • What sectors is it aimed at?

Civil society has a separate place in the research. In accordance with the international development policy trends civil society is playing an increasingly important role. The results of the research show whether these priorities are reflected in the system of actual donor aid for Belarus: how much donors rely on the civil society organizations in realizing projects and how prioritized is the support of the non-governmental sector in Belarus.

The round table is aimed at discussing the results of the research and opportunities to apply these results in work for different structures.
