The Belarusan National Platform of the EaP CSF issued a statement in connection with the wave of searches in the editorial offices of the Belarusan media and the detention of journalists.
Belarusan author Svetlana Alexievich is awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature 2015
She won the prize “for her polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time”.
The announcement of the award was broadcasted live at the official website of the award. The solemn ceremony of awarding the Belarusan writer Svetlana Alexievich is to be held on December 10 in Stockholm. The amount of the award in 2015 was 8 million Swedish kronor, that is 953,000 US dollars.
Svetlana Alexievich is the 14th woman to get the award in literature in history.
